Wem Technology, a leading West and Central London Managed Service IT provider, has announced that it has gained the higher Cyber Essentials Plus (CEP) certification.

The government-backed Cyber Essentials scheme is designed to improve the resilience of UK businesses to the most common cyber security threats.  The scheme requires companies to implement five key controls:

  • Secure configuration
  • Boundary firewalls and internet gateways
  • Access control and administrative privilege management
  • Patch management
  • Malware protection

To achieve the stringent Cyber Essentials PLUS certification, Wem Technology undertook a complete review of all security processes in the organisation, which were then independently tested by CREST, an accreditation body appointed by the government.

“The Cyber Essentials scheme is unique because it has been developed as collaboration between the UK government and the very best cyber security professionals in the UK,” said Ian Glover, President of CREST.

Wem Technology Managing Director Vin Jauhal comments that "cyber-attacks pose real threats to UK organisations and this latest accolade should reassure Wem Technology customers that we meet the highest security standards and are always looking at ways to improve."
